ABOUT OUR HERD!

Nigerian dairy goats are a great choice as milk goats for the homestead or simply for companionship. Being a miniature breed, they are more economical on feed and can be kept in smaller spaces. Properly managed and well-bred, they produce a surprising amount of milk for their size, and their milk contains the highest percentage of butterfat compared to other dairy goat breeds. Our goats are raised as bottle babies and make exceptionally friendly pets. They are inquisitive and enjoy human companionship and you’ll soon figure out your goat’s favorite spot to sit will be in your lap!
We began raising ADGA registered Nigerian dwarf goats in 2019 and are a performance tested herd. We participate in programs such as monthly milk testing and yearly linear appraisal. Information from these performance programs is used to make our breeding decisions. We test annually for CL, CAE and Johnes and have had negative results.
A herd of these gentle creatures scattered throughout the farm is a pleasant sight and good for the soul!
