ABOUT OUR
GRIFFS

Shortly after getting married in 2000,  we set out to find a breed of dog that would fit our active, outdoor lifestyle.  Growing up we had both had a variety of sporting dogs so we began our search for another sporting dog.  We stumbled upon the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon and were instantly drawn to the shaggy bearded dog affectionately known as a Griff.  We found in the Griff a perfect fit for our lifestyle.  After a long daily hike, hunt or an hour of active play, the Griff will likely take a nap or lie quietly beside you.   This breed forms a tight, affectionate bond with family members and is devoted to its owners.  Griffons are good with children and can be protective of their family and home which suited our farm life.  Overall, this is a sweet, life-loving breed that is very intelligent and biddable but requires gentle and patient training.  We hope this has given you a small glimpse as to why we own Wirehaired Pointing Griffons and maybe a better idea if this is the breed for you.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We have been involved in Griffons for over 24 years.  First and foremost, we breed our animals to make great family companions.  We strive for pups with affectionate, biddable personalities.  This breed is a hunting breed and our dogs are working dogs.  We prioritize homes that will put our pups on birds, participate in hunt tests and NAVHDA such as we do.

We do realize that not everyone has access to hunting lands or the desire to bird hunt.  We place a lot of our dogs with active families and they do very well with proper obedience training and plenty of exercise.  They are such a gem of a breed that it would be a shame not to share them with all families that can cater to their love of the outdoors!
